Zeb Bangash and Shamali Afghan’s ‘Shireen Guftaar Daari’ is the perfect Eid treat we didn’t see coming
Singer Zeb Bangash blessed our ears on Eid with the teaser for her upcoming music ‘Shireen Guftaar Daari’, a Persian folk song featuring Shamali Afghan.
On Sunday, the ‘Bibi Sanam Janem’ musician took to Instagram and shared a half-minute clip with her followers from her upcoming music video.
She referred to the visuals in the music video of a “refugee encampment in 1980” of a fabric city that has “as many hopes and dreams as the people living in it. The dwellers of this makeshift town may have left their country but they bring with them the colour, the vibrancy and the romance of their home wherever they go.”
Describing the setting, the music video sees Bangash as a shy girl who walks into a photo studio for her first-ever portrait as the story unravels. She also hinted that the music video will drop soon.
Her post received got comments from Indian lyricist Swanand Kirkire and filmmaker Sarmad Khoosat. The Kamli director wrote, “What do I do with my heart - This is truly out of this world Zeb Bangash. Have not seen anything like this in a long long time,” and lauded Bangash’s appearance in the video itself.
The music features Bangash’s strong and Afghan’s soft vocals on traditional instrumental of rabab and tablas.
The music video is yet to release on social media platforms. Both artists hinted that it will be releasing “soon”.
Both Bangash and Afghan will be collaborating for the second time. Previously they released ‘Yaar’ in solidarity with people of Afghanistan in the wake of the devastating takeover by Taliban.
