We love seeing women uplifting other women and we loved seeing actor Sarwat Gilani appreciating Prince's Trust Award winner and activist Tanzila Khan.

A week ago, Pakistani activist and entrepreneur Khan was awarded the Prince's Trust International Amal Clooney Women's Empowerment Award at the 2022 Prince's Trust Awards for her work on increasing women's access to menstrual, pregnancy and reproductive health products. Around the same time, Gilani and Saim Sadiq's Joyland, a Pakistani movie featuring a daring portrait of a transgender dancer in the country, won Pakistan's first-ever Cannes honour with the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize.

Acknowledging Khan's achievement, Gilani took to Instagram and called her Cannes journey "inspiring" as well as Khan. "This girl just made me cry today showing the world that nothing can stop you from achieving your dreams, how amazing are you Tanzila Khan. Love our people, Pakistan Zindabad," she wrote while sharing a photo of Khan and Amal Clooney.

In response, the entrepreneur said, "Sarwat Apa (sister) you are the sweetest! I'm sitting alone in Transit at Abu Dhabi Airport and we often get lonely in our fight and suddenly I saw this post of yours. Mera dil khush hogaya (My heart's happy)."

Prior to Gilani's post dedicated for Khan, they both also exchanged congratulatory messages via Instagram stories. "So very proud of you for doing what we can only dream of achieving. more power to you. You make us proud," Gilani wrote. Khan also sent "love" her way and congratulated on Joyland's big win at the movie festival.

Khan had told Images that she is an activist and entrepreneur from Punjab who is on a mission to help improve women’s health. “I run Girlythings, a service that delivers menstrual health products to women across Pakistan. I am the writer, producer and actor behind Pakistan’s first short comedy on disability called Fruit Chaat. I’m also a public speaker and do many other ventures on disability and empowerment.”
