Mission Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One trailer features Tom Cruise' biggest stunt ever
Months of delays didn't keep Tom Cruise from performing his biggest stunt as Ethan Hunt in the upcoming film Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One. The trailer dropped on Monday and revealed intense stunts and car chase scenes, a trademark of the Mission: Impossible franchise.
The new trailer sees the team getting back together for yet another impossible mission. It opens up with a handful of action numbers, motorcycle stunts, car chase scenes and plenty of Cruise-centric scenes, such as his fights on a train and a boat. The rest of the cast includes Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham, and Cary Elwes. Esai Morales will also be seen as the main antagonist in the film.
Dead reckoning has faced many, many delays in production due to Covid-19. Both Cruise and the film's director Christopher McQuarrie contracted the virus during production in Italy.
According to Collider, the seventh instalment of the Mission Impossible series was originally slated to release this year on September 30 but it's now scheduled to premiere worldwide on July 14, 2023. Its sequel, Mission: Impossible 8, was moved from a July 7 release next year to June 28, 2024. The cast and crew began filming for the next movie late last month.
The spy film franchise kicked off in 1996 directed by Brian De Palma and was based on the 1966 television series of the same name. The Top Gun: Maverick actor has creative control over the franchise which has been wildly successful, especially the fourth film Mission: Impossible- Ghost Protocol.
