We finally know the name of baby Chopra-Jonas!

According to PEOPLE, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and husband Nick Jonas — who announced the arrival of their first child on January 21 — have named their daughter Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. Malti Marie was born just after 8pm on January 15 at a San Diego hospital, according to the birth certificate obtained by TMZ.

According to Hindustan Times, Malti is Sanskrit for small fragrant flower or moonlight.

The couple's baby came into the world through surrogacy on January 15. “We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate,” their statement said.

They did not reveal their baby’s name or sex at the time, asking for privacy “during this special time as we focus on our family.”

The couple had been dropping hints about their future plans all along — Chopra had told The Sunday Times in January 2021 that she wanted a large family. Jonas gushed about his wife and their future as parents, telling Extra in February 2021, “We’d be blessed with any child, son or daughter or anything. Just knocking [on] wood that it happens.”

Celebrities from both Bollywood and Hollywood had congratulated the new parents upon the announcement. Katrina Kaif, Lily James, Kal Penn and Mindy Kaling sent their love in the comment section of the Instagram post.

They could've named her "distant relative" because of surrogacy and to remember that someone else carried her just because they could do it.

@NYS Its compulsary to have middle name in America, so the long name. They are respecting both parents lineage and cultures too.

@Rubina , It is not. My children don't have middle names and so do many of my friends children. You can leave that field blank.
