Anushka Sharma shares a poem as a tribute to her daughter Vamika
Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma has been spending some quality time with her daughter Vamika. On Monday, the actor took to Instagram and shared a poem dedicated to children and a mother trying to be the best version of herself for her little one.
"Dear child, I spend so much time trying to figure out how to be the best mother to you. I know I won’t always get it right. But what I can promise is that no matter what… I’ll meet you where you are. Not where I want you to be. Not where I think you should be. Not where you will be. But right where you are, at this very moment,” read the post.
The actor gave birth on Jan 11, 2021. Ever since, she and husband Virat Kohli have been hush hush about their life as parents and have kept their daughter's face hidden from the public. Recently, Vamika was photographed at a cricket match despite her parents' earlier requests not to publish photos or videos of her. The first few clips were taken during the third ODI between India and South Africa.
"We want to inform everyone that we were caught off guard and didn't know that the camera was on us. Our stance and request on the matter stays the same. We would really appreciate if Vamika's images are not clicked/published for reasons we have explained earlier," wrote both Kohli and Sharma.
The actor has been vocal about keeping her and her daughter's lives private and values their family time.
Sharma is currently filming for her new movie Chakda Xpress, which is based on the life of Jhulan Goswami, a female Indian cricketer who made a name for herself for being one of the best female bowlers in India and served as the captain of India's national women's cricket team. The film will show the struggles of the cricketer.
The biopic was announced in the beginning of Jan with a snippet that said, "If cricket is a religion, why are men the only Gods". Sharma had previously shared a screen with Shah Rukh Khan for film Zero in 2018 and has produced films such as Bulbbul and Paatal Lok. Her upcoming project marks the first film she has signed after becoming a mother.
