About five years ago, Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra had announced that she was making an American series inspired by the life of Madhuri Dixit. The series were said to be focused on the Devdas actor's life after she gave up fame for a life in the US suburbs. But it's not happening any longer, the actor has confirmed.

In 2017, The White Tiger actor had taken the news on her social media and wrote, "One of the favourite parts of my job is to be able to tell stories across genres, languages and to a varied audience. Today I’m happy to share with you another step I’ve taken on that creative journey, in my role as a producer. This particular story is one of a few Hollywood projects that I am currently developing.”

Chopra even specified in her caption that Dixit's "real life has been the inspiration behind Sri Rao’s amazing story, and I can't wait to work with the both of them to see how this will pan out". Rao is the director of Dixit's recent Netflix show The Fame Game and had started working on the sitcom already. However, in an interview, Dixit said that it's not happening.

According to The Indian Express Dixit said, "There were ongoing discussions and we were trying to pitch it and Shri Rao, director of The Fame Game, who has written the script of the show, was involved with that project too. But sometimes things work and sometimes they don’t. We tried to get that sitcom approved but it didn’t pan out.”

She added that the show was not entirely her biography but "part fiction and part reality". Dixit also mentioned that some bits from her life were to be incorporated into the comedy series by ABC but it is done and they aren't working on it anymore.

Netflix's mystery-thriller series The Fame Game is the Bollywood star's first OTT debut. The series released on Feb 25 worldwide. Dixit is seen as superstar Anamika Anand. The show explores what goes on beyond the glitz and glamour of her life. In the series Anamika goes missing after an award show and an investigation begins to find her. It goes back and forth between finding her and flashbacks of the past when she lived with her family.
