Netflix hit show The Crown was robbed as thieves stole more than 350 antique props from the sets of the drama serial. The show is based on the British royal family and the props included a replica of the 1897 Imperial Coronation Coach Egg as well as 12 silver and seven gold candelabra and were worth a collective $200,000.

Antiques Trade Gazette first reported the incident and that items were taken from a lorry park in Mexborough, South Yorkshire over the weekend while the filming was taking place nearby. The theft was immediately reported to the police and there is hope to recover valuable props.

According to Entertainment Weekly, a clock face of a William IV grandfather clock and a 10-piece silver dressing table set were also stolen from the set during filming of season five. Set decorator of The Crown, Alison Harvey told the Gazette, "The items stolen are not necessarily in the best condition and therefore of limited value for resale. However, they are valuable as pieces to the UK film industry."

A spokesperson for the streaming service confirmed the theft to Entertainment Weekly and said "we hope that they are found and returned safely". He also said, "Replacements will be sourced, there is no expectation that filming will be held up."

The upcoming season of The Crown stars Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Dominic West as Prince Charles and Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana. The fifth instalment of the show will cover the John Major government years and also Diana-Charles' marriage breakdown. This also means our very own Humayun Saeed will also be seen as Dr Hasnat Khan who the late Princess Diana was said to be smitten by in 1995. The series will also explore the tragic death of the late princess in 1997.

British are THIEVES. They stole stuff from various countries' museums and now they are doing the same in their own backyard. Thieves and liars!
