Actor Mehwish Hayat has taken on the responsibility of reminding everyone that the new year ahead may not be as bad as we think it'll be. The Load Wedding star shared her rendition of American singer Mariah Carey's 'Hero' as a reminder that we all are a hero in our own way.

With the instrumental playing in the background, Hayat belted out a few notes that were surprisingly similar to Carey's from the original song. Taking the clip to her Instagram account, the actor wrote, "As another year comes to an end with a new one on the horizon. This is just a reminder for anyone who needs to hear it — the real hero lies within us all."

The 33-year-old also said that the hero within you needs to be acknowledged and we need to "realise the power we hold within ourselves. Why look outside to find our hero when there is one inside of each one of us."

The actor ended it with hashtag "all time favourite song". This isn't the first time she's posted a cover of a song — she has entertained us with renditions of Billie Eilish and Bruno Mars singles in the past.

Hayat's message is a reminder for not just the new year but for the whole year! We're all heroes in our own right and we just need to realise it.
