Another piece of the puzzle: Junaid Safdar to wear clothes designed by HSY at his wedding festivities
December is the official Pakistani wedding season and this time around we've got a high profile wedding rolling around — Junaid Safdar and Ayesha Saif Khan's. Naturally, everyone wants to know what's up — from the wedding cards to the clothes, we're uncovering details bit by bit and now we finally know who PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz's son, is going to be wearing at his wedding festivities and it's none other than HSY.
The groom posted pictures with the designer on his Instagram Story.
HSY then posted two pictures with Junaid and Maryam disclosing delicious details — he revealed that he has designed the clothes and that Junaid had been there for fittings. The designer called the looks "classic" and "timeless".
He also described the groom as "incredibly polite and well mannered", wishing the couple the best for the future.
Junaid and Ayesha had their nikah ceremony in London, August 22 and the wedding reception will be held on December 14 in Islamabad with a valima in Lahore on December 17, the PML-N has confirmed.
Maryam and Captain Safdar did not attend the nikah. She had earlier announced that she would not request the government to allow her to travel to London for the ceremony.
Former premier Nawaz Sharif and former finance minister Ishaq Dar were at the wedding and sat right beside Junaid as he signed the nikah papers. Maryam and Safdar, both of whom are in Lahore, were on video call with their son during the wedding.
While we also do not know much about the bride, we can confirm she is the daughter of Saifur Rahman Khan, a close confidante of Nawaz Sharif, who was made chairman of the then Ehtesab Bureau during Nawaz's second tenure as prime minister in 1997.
As the wedding approaches, more and more details are getting revealed and people seem more excited than they are for their own family weddings. We’ve got some gold in the name of the Sharif family’s singing — we've been treated to Maryam, Junaid and Hamza Shahbaz singing so far and can’t wait to see what more is to come. With a week to go till the puzzle comes together entirely, all eyes are currently on the Sharifs.
