Actor Hania Aamir was once a regular fixture on our Instagram feeds but lately, she hasn't been as active and that has been a conscious decision on her part.

The Ishqiya and Dil Ruba star recently did a Q&A session with fans on Instagram where she addressed quite a few things — her thoughts on being single, her love for Billie Eilish and something we've all been curious about, her glaring absence on Instagram.

"Why are you not as active on Instagram as you used to be?" a fan asked Aamir. "Don't feel like it anymore," she replied. "I've picked enough battles here. Voicing your opinions comes at a price and the price is your mental health. The gossip, the mean comments and the 'putting each other down' on the internet had started getting to me. And honestly I lost faith in humanity so I need a break. I don't feel like putting my life out there anymore.

"To be honest, I'm at peace. I like that people know less and say less. Maybe one day Instagram and I can rekindle the friendship we once had but for now I'm good," she said.

Aamir has been vocal about her experience with cyber bullying and harassment on social media. Apart from a volley of negative comments directed her way, she also faced a disturbing situation where someone manipulating a video of her Instagram Live to include a picture of a man ejaculating onto her picture.

The incident was part of the reason she decided to reduce her use of social media.

The Ishiqiya actor answered a number of other questions by fans as well. "Are you single?" a fan asked. "If you are then are you looking for someone?"

"[I'm] single yes," Aamir answered. "I'm not looking for anything. Just spending quality time with the people that are closest to me, focusing on my craft and working really, really hard. Actively looking for someone doesn't work to be honest. When it is meant to be, it is meant to be. God works in mysterious ways."

One fan asked Aamir about her thoughts on the recent Facebook, Instagram and Twitter outage. "I was on an impromptu trip to Lahore, having some really fun conversations. It really didn't make a difference," she answered.

The actor also revealed how she isn't a fan of the popular Netflix show Squid Game.

She also got a chance to reaffirm her love for American singer Billie Eilish to the world. "Do you love Billie Eilish or do you love Billie Eilish?" a fan asked. "I like this question," Aamir replied. She posted a picture of herself wearing a Billie Eilish t-shirt.

Aamir excited her loyal fans by sharing that she's shooting for not just one, but two upcoming television dramas.

We're glad to know the actor is thriving during her absence from social media. Whether you are a celebrity or not, no one deserves to go through any kind of cyber bullying and harassment and we're glad she's able to take a break from the negativity and live her life. You do you, Hania Aamir.
