Shehzad Roy corrects Bollywood actor Anupam Kher's tweet on viral video of Pakistani children

Roy thanked the actor for resharing the video and corrected his assertion that the children were from India.
27 Aug, 2021

Singer Shehzad Roy recently took to social media to respond to a tweet by Bollywood actor Anupam Kher in which he'd shared a video of young children using tin cans and containers as musical instruments for their marching band.

The now viral video had been originally shared by Roy who'd asked about the whereabouts of the children upon seeing their talent. "Please somebody tell me where are these kids and I’ll give them all the instruments they need," he'd written on Instagram.

Roy's followers confirmed that the children were from Hunza in Pakistan upon the singer's request. Days later, the video was re-shared by Kher on Twitter. "Some kids in a village in India have formed their own band together," the actor wrote while sharing the video. "This band does not have any modern equipment. And what a tune they have chosen of the military band. Because they know that 'the real power lies in the heart!' Hail to these children."

Many users replied to Kher's tweet to correct his misconception that the children were from India, as did Roy.

"Thanks for sharing the video I shared a few days back. You say that these talented kids are from Bharat, a humble correction, these kids are in fact from Hunza, Pakistan. I am in touch with them and have sent them all the musical instruments they need," he wrote.

Netizens were pretty glad to see Roy put the issue to rest, thanking him for his generous donation to the children. We're also glad to see how polite he was when responding to Kher.

One user banked on the singer's recent generosity and asked him to give away just one more thing — the secret to his youthful looking skin.

Whatever Roy's skincare routine is, it is working wonders. As for the children, we'd love to see a fresh video from them playing their brand new instruments! Glad to know their talent is being celebrated across the border as well.

Anupam Kher has lost it by blindly following Modi. That is the reason I say do not follow anyone blindly because if you do then you will always be taken for a ride. Use your brain and always ask questions what, when, why, and how and you will always be able to figure out the motives behind one's sayings and actions.

@Ali (India) it's not Vande Mataram. The beginning does sound like that and throws one off but if you listen carefully, it is a military tune and that is what the kids were trying to depict. They had recreated the military drill with the youngest of them all showing his skills. They probably had never thought of creating music but were creating a military's performance. As luck has it, it got perceived as their love for music and everyone got involved based on their limited understanding. Mr. Roy thought it was their love for music while Mr. Kher might've also perceived it to be Vande Mataram. In reality everyone got taken for a ride, including you. Listen carefully and you will see the difference. Good for the kids since their dreams of becoming famous through a tablo performance catapulted them to fame and possibly on the path of music that they possibly didn't desire. If they are clever, they will ride on this opportunity and might make a career out of it.

@Sajjad Since 1947, India has been consumed by a rapacious hunger to be a colonial power. The first act of the independent Indian state was to carry out a bombardment of Manipur and Nagaland. Invasions and occupations of Hyderabad, Junagarh, Manavader and Jammu & Kashmir followed later. Of course, Ganges is a great civilization and this area has given birth to many great religions i.e. Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism and that should be commended, but the current state of India is nothing more than a terrorist tyranny.

basically, Indians and Americans have destroyed social and moral fabrics around the world. both are adamant in displaying they are intelligent and the world learned from both. thank goodness both were not in power when the world was developing. Indians are madly obsessed that the world should admit all modern developments were existing 5000 years ago during one of their millions of gods. Modi explained that one of their lords is a test tube baby thousands of years ago. Indians are adamant zero is their invention, the wheel was discovered million years ago in Indian culture. mega bombs were there in India .... only they know that rest of the world doesn't even know about that. The USA is a champ for the latest technology.

basically, Indians are masters of cut pastes, theft, stealing music, self-glorification is their time pass as confirmed by Anupam Kher. just for anything they will say it's from India, Indians did that, this, etc. Indian cannot do anything on their own, they will copy and later claim we did this and that. they are slaves for thousands of years. more or less every dominant society ruled them from Inka to Egyptians, alexander, Afghans, Turks, Muslims, Buddhists and Muslims, Portuguese, British, etc. now they are again dependent on America and Arabs for mobilizing their economy. slaves freedom may last few year more. again some invaders will capture them.

His recent tweet is just another example of how he'd create controversy out of non-issues, thereby demonstrating his immense hate towards Pakistan. There's two songs, exactly the same tune, one is Vanday Mataram and the other is Aao bachu sair karain. Indian and Pakistani respectively. So the children can be from either country. But if Roy says he's in touch with them in Hunza, why this debate? Goes to show people are very proud of them and want to own them.
