From Saba Qamar to Mawra Hocane, celebrities wish Pakistan a happy Independence Day

Many actors and singers took to social media to mark August 14 with pictures of their celebrations.

Pakistan is celebrating its 75th Independence Day today (Saturday) and while the pandemic is still raging, it hasn't dulled our celebrities' patriotic fervour.

Several celebrities posted Independence Day messages on Instagram.

Mikaal Zulfiqar

The actor shared a video from an Independence Day water show.

Nimra Khan

The actor posted a video of herself waving the flag to an instrumental version of the national anthem paying tribute to the thousands who have laid down their lives for the country.

Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy

The director paid tribute to the women of Pakistan in her post. "This Independence Day [is] an ode to our women who dare to speak the truth, who fight for justice, who open doors for other women, who are warriors and trailblazers and who work to free other women. They give me hope that there is a better tomorrow coming for all of us."

The 75th Independence day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan mabrook to everybody except those who haven't accepted as yet the independence, liberty, founding, freedom and creation of the biggest Islamic State of the 20th century on August 14, 1947.

Am sure most of these self claimed or media driven celebs dint know which year we got independence. They will just start throwing around their tweets from comfort of their bed or tv lounge. Why dont they just visit monuments and make it more crispy Eve.

There is a need to look back at the Two Nation theory and check whether we have adhered to its fundamentals. Celebrating 14 August is considerably more than 'going green' and 'pataakhay'.

Indeed, happy Independence Pakistan day. However, is there anything currently we can be proud of? All over Pakistan there is Poverty, lack of education, lack of health and social care, corruption and bribery. The politicians have looted and razed the county over the past 40 years. This is not the vision our founding forefather had!
