Actor Surekha Sikri — a three-time National Award winning Bollywood star — passed away at age 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest in Mumbai.
Sikri's manager shared with The Indian Express that “three-time national award winning actress, Surekha Sikri has passed away following a cardiac arrest earlier this morning at the age of 75. She had been suffering from complications arising from a second brain stroke. She was surrounded by family and her caregivers. The family asks for privacy at this time."
She was known for her performances in drama Balika Vadhu and movie Badhaai Ho.
A number of celebrities and public figures have expressed condolences on the actor's demise.
In Pakistan as well, people took to social media to share the sad news but in a strange turn of events, actor Iffat Omar left a rather inappropriate comment on Elle India's Instagram post sharing the news of Sikri's death.
We're not sure what Omar meant by this, and neither are other people for that matter.
We're sure it was a mistake but we hope she removes the comment soon. Some angry keyboard warriors are coming her way.
Our heartfelt condolences to Sikri's family and loved ones in this difficult time.
