Veteran Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah has been hospitalised for pneumonia and is likely to be discharged on Friday.

The actor’s secretary told PTI that he’s doing well and is expected to be released from the hospital on Friday.

He was admitted to the PD Hinduja Hospital and Medical Research Centre on Tuesday.

Shah’s manager told the Bombay Times on Wednesday that the star had been hospitalised for the past two days. “There was a patch found in his lungs and it became necessary for him to be hospitalised immediately,” he said.

Shah is 70 years old and his career has spanned 46 years. Earlier this year, he starred in the film Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi. He has also starred in the Pakistani film Khuda Ke Liye and Hollywood production The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
