Pakistani artist Salman Toor featured on Time100 Next list

He lives and works in New York City but is originally from Lahore.

Pakistani artist Salman Toor has been featured on the Time100 Next list, which highlights emerging leaders who are shaping the future.

Toor, who was born in Lahore and now lives in New York City, is an artist who has "made his career subverting the styles of old paintings by centering openly queer men of South Asian descent," according to Time.

He has had multiple shows both in Pakistan and abroad and was also part of the Lahore Biennale in 2018. He recently secured his first solo show at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.

The Time100 Next list is divided into multiple categories — artists, phenoms, leaders, advocates and innovators.

The list is diverse and features actors such as Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Never Have I Ever) and Rege-Jean Page (Bridgerton) alongside world leaders such as Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin.

@Paddy like Kamala Harris?why then the village where her ancesstors were born celebrated her winning?Kamala was not even born in India. She saw India once at age of 5 and thats all. Why did you have celebratiins on her American vote victory?double standards? Very sad and petty.
