Syeda Tuba Aamir, wife of TV host and politician, Aamir Liaquat, is all set to venture into her professional career on screen, making her acting debut with television serial Bharaas, alongside Salman Saeed and Zubab Rana.

"The girl I'm playing in Bharaas is called Mina. She's someone who is straightforward, strong, is hardly seen crying in the play and is a working woman who stands up for herself, speaks the truth and accepts her mistakes. A fierce woman, she can differentiate between right and wrong," Tuba revealed in a conversation with Images.

Speaking about her journey from behind the screens straight to the spotlight, she also spoke about the encouragement she received from those around her.

"I was working in the media behind the scenes since a long time, and during these years, I've had so many people tell me that I should do something in front of the camera and that I’d be great at it but I was never really sure," she explained.

"Almost 11 months back, I thought let's give it a try and gave an audition at Six Sigma Plus and then later completely forgot about it. Then, months later, I got a call from them and they discussed this project with me. I wasn't sure if I should go ahead with it because of the pandemic," Tuba added, sharing that it took her some time to make up her mind for it.

"My loved ones motivated me into going ahead with it, otherwise I might not have. After a few days of shooting, I realised I do enjoy this."

She also added how working with seniors as well newcomers is a great experience, since there's so much to learn. "There's a lot to grab from everyone, and since I hadn't seen the drama industry before (because I was more inclined towards shows etc), it feels great," she said.

Tuba expressed her wish to continue working as an actor in the future. "But i will obviously pick and choose my roles and projects since i'm inclined towards doing projects with substance, which come with a thought-provoking message, and which are worth it."

"I will try not to do repetitive roles as I am more keen to experiment and explore my acting skills," she added, saying that she was open to unique ideas and different genres.

Here's hoping this new career path works out for Aamir!

Bharaas, which also features Omer Shahzad, Dur-e-Fishaan, Furqan Qureshi, Khalid Anam and Behroz Sabzwari. is currently on air on ARY Digital.
