Lux Style Awards 2020 are obviously not happening anymore

The show's budget will be redirected to those affected by coronavirus crisis in the fashion industry.

Since the breaking out of the coronavirus pandemic, several events across the world have been postponed or cancelled indefinitely.

Joining them is the annual Lux Style Awards which will not be taking place this year.

Instead, the show's budget will be redirected in collaboration with the Akhuwat Foundation in order to support those affected by the global COVID-19 crisis in the fashion industry.

"Over the years, thousands of people have supported and worked on making it the most coveted award ceremony of Pakistan. Today, in these tough times, we want to support the members of these industries, whose lives and jobs have been affected by the pandemic," shared Asima Haq, the Beauty and Personal Care Director at Unilever, Pakistan.

The organisers further added, "While we may not celebrate LSA in all its glory this year, we will find a befitting way to recognize and award the winners of the 19th LUX Style Awards."

Due to coronavirus the awards distribution ceremony scheduled to be held at Awan-e-Saddar, Islamabad on March 23, 2020 was postponed and names of people which were announced by Cabinet Secretariat on August 14, 2019 could not get their awards. While Lux Style Awards 2020 seems to be not taking any time in 2020, I will suggest that at least names of Lux Style Awards 2020 winners should be announced so that people should know who were the winners and the runner-ups in 2020. There can be no other good work in the present circumstances other than allocating the budget of Lux Style Awards 2020 that the money should be spent in collaboration with the Akhuwat Foundation in order to support the affected people by the global coronavirus crisis in the fashion industry. Let's keep our fingers cross and hope that Pakistan will soon come out completely from coronavirus and life will once again start as usual in 2020 after the lock down will be unlocked as it use to be before start of Covid-19.

It's not!? Nooooooo, LUX is canceled? Say it ain't so. Well I guess I better pack away the fancy dress and heels, the icing needs to back into the safe, and oh must cancel the limo!
