Upcoming drama Ehd-e-Wafa already has a stellar cast but they have yet another strong actor on board.

Apart from Osman Khalid Butt, Ahad Raza Mir, Ahmed Ali Akbar, Wahaj Ali, Zara Noor Abbas to name a few (that's right, few), we also know that Vaneeza Ahmed is in the drama.

Speaking to Images, the former model revealed that she's "playing Ahad Raza Mir’s mother".

"I play a doctor in the play. I can't say much about the plot but the story is about love, love for your friends, love for your country and love for your family, the love a mother feels for her children."

She added, "It’s not a sequel to Alpha Bravo Charlie, although kind of you can say that the character is the same, Faraz is Faraz in this play also and my character is of his wife. The story is of Faraz’s family and then of three more boys individually. These are four friends and they go to Lawrence College and after that they disperse into different career paths."

The drama is being directed by Saife Hassan and has been penned by Sang-e-Mar Mar writer, Mustafa Afridi.

"I haven't done a play in a very long time. Being a full-time mother means it's difficult to commit to a project. So when Momina [Duraid] called me about this role, I asked her so many questions about it, like what the character is and how long the project will take."

According to Vaneeza, "It was the way the drama showed love and connection between a family, which has been written so beautifully, that won me over. Having lost my sister six months ago, my priorities in life completely changed and family became a priority."

"My role is enough to complete the story and show the journey that my son takes, how he enlists into the army and how he gets the support he wants from his family."

She added, "The other reason I said yes to it was because it wasn’t your typical saas-bahu type of story, that is something I could never relate to because I have a very good mother-in-law, so I can never comprehend such stories and I am unable to do them. But it’s a different story about friendship and these four boys."

Ehd-e-Wafa will air on Hum TV on 22 September, 2019.
