Actor and politician, Urmila Matondkar has been actively calling out the Indian government's decision to revoke Article 370 and the security clampdown in occupied Kashmir on Twitter.

Speaking to the press recently, Matondkar revealed that her husband hasn't been able to get in touch with his Kashmiri parents.

"The question is not only about abrogating Article 370. It was done in an inhumane manner. My father-in-law and mother-in-law stay there. Both are diabetic, have high blood pressure. Today is the 22nd day, neither me nor my husband have been able to speak to them. We have no clue if they have medicines available at home," she said.

India's government, led by the Hindu-nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party, decided on August 5 to repeal of Article 370 of the Indian constitution, that granted occupied Kashmir special status. The government instituted a security lockdown and communications blackout to avoid violence. The clampdown is now on its 26th day.

Actually, very patriotic of Urmila of speaking her and voicing the opposition to the unlawful events in JK. I have a suspicion that she will blacklisted in Bollywood very soon or anti Urmila rhetoric will follow. Very unfortunate, but reality of what's going on in India.

Urmila, how often did you call your inlaws to come and stay with you? You should be caring for your elders. Right?
