Yasir Hussain wants all Pakistani artists to boycott Bollywood forever
Tensions between Pakistan and India escalated earlier this week when the Indian government revoked occupied Kashmir's special status.
The status had guaranteed special rights to the Muslim-majority state, including the right to its own constitution and autonomy to make laws on all matters, except defence, communications and foreign affairs.
This was done as a curfew was imposed and thousands of newly deployed troops arrived and some internet and phone services were cut in the Himalayan region where most people oppose Indian rule.
Amidst the chaos, many Pakistani celebrities spoke up to condemn New Delhi's actions. The latest statement comes from actor Yasir Hussain, who wants Pakistani artists to vow that they will never work with India.
His post on Instagram read: "I want every Pakistani artist to say they will never work with India. You have love for Kashmir and then you want to work in India as well?"
"Now all Pakistani artists are going to judge me but I don't care. I love Pakistan and I cry for Kashmir. I used to believe art has no boundary but maybe there is one. They've drawn it, we should too. #standforkashmir."
Meanwhile, a ban has been in place in India for a long time restricting Pakistani actors from working in Bollywood, whereas Pakistani cinemas have also long disallowed the screening of Bollywood movies.
