Bollywood actor Anupam Kher drew Twitter's ire once again during the ongoing events in Indian-occupied Kashmir.

Late last night, Kher wrote, "Kashmir solution has begun," in reference to the Indian government's movement.

In common usage, "final solution" usually refers to Final Solution to the Jewish Question, which was the Nazi plan for the genocide of Jews and also the official code name for the policy.

Twitter users were quick to point out Kher's use of the sinister phrase.

Others pointed out the incongruity of the terminology with Kher's professional achievements — and his own life.

Hours later, however, Kher seemed undaunted by the blowback as he doubled down and shared the release of his autobiography.

India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party stripped Indian-occupied Kashmir of its special autonomous status after placing local elected representatives under house arrest and repealing Article 370 on Monday.

By repealing Article 370 of the constitution, people from the rest of India will now have the right to acquire property in occupied Kashmir and settle there permanently. Kashmiris as well as critics of India’s Hindu nationalist-led government see the move as an attempt to dilute the demographics of Muslim-majority Kashmir with Hindu settlers.

Let actors remain actors, with their personal opinions. Don't give their opinions any importance.

He’s as insignificant as ever. Such reckless comments should be condemned and investigated at the highest level if he’s, in fact, a UN ambassador.

The problem today is not with people like Anupam Kher but is with people like us, who give undue importance and attention to statements made by so called celebrities.Today a celebrity is considered to be an intellectual and that's where the flaw begins.
