Indian fans miss Atif Aslam and we have proof

You could say they feel a lot of... doori
11 Jul, 2019

Fans from India are feeling a lot of doori from Atif Aslam.

After the ban on Pakistani artists, the singer also stopped his concerts in India and this has led to heartbreak from his followers from across the border.

Indian playback singer Amaal Mallik took to Twitter to share how much he misses Aslam’s voice in B-town.

The singer was responding to a fan who wished for lifting of the ban particularly from the Pakistani singer so he could still sing in India.

“Please unban Atif Aslam, He’s an amazing artist & as well as good human being. We want Atif songs in Bollywood,” the fan wrote. To which Amaal responded, “Miss this guy’s voice in Bollywood,”

The singer has some great Bollywood tracks under his belt so the ban on Pakistani artists came as as serious a blow for Indian fans.

We don't blame them, the singer recently bagged the 'Best Playback Singer' at Lux Style Awards 2019 because we just can't get enough of him.

Your wish is respected and appreciated. Unban can’t be selective... let’s wait till the relations between Neighbour’s improve. BTW we would also like to see Kohli perform on our grounds.

@Sahmad -- There are no bans from Pak side. Kohli and co are more than welcome, only if their govt allows it.

This is the beauty of arts. Music is art. It transcends borders. Same for movies, poetry, books, plays. The ban is ridiculous and so is this cross border mutual "hate" when all we do is copying their movie industry which I am against as I think we should create our own unique cinema so people will understand and appreciate Pakistani culture. Indias loss.

@Sahmad . No please, the mingling must be across the board, not just selecting the singers, or celebrity or even MPAs, the most deserving are divided families, let the common people mingle first, then the rest.

I sincerely hope no Pakistani artist ever ever perform in India for any reason. There is no way our own film industry is going to improve unless we have the creativity and innovation from within. Most Indian movies did well at Cinema due to songs by Pakistani singers. They have an issue with Pakistani footprint in their country but they no issue in making money off Pakistanis. It's double standards and best is to stay away.

@Khaled Ahmed, he is a good singer but most of his success in Bollywood has been been due to the supremely talented music directors and composers for his songs!

Politics can't undo the goodness of a good one. What else can be the greatest achievement for or an artist when his absence is felt in some part of the world.

If he was a good singer in India , why is he not a good singer inPakistan ? Pakistan needs him more than India needs him.

@IndianVoice The guy who wrote that twitter post cares, I care & I know that many others whom I know care too. But the ban is alright as the GoI has other responsibilities as well.

Atif is a very good singer. He sung unforgettable hindi songs. He should continue hindi playback singing from neutral locations. I personally miss his singing. But I support my govt stand too.

I also love the folk songs posted by Baloch nationalists/ separatists on Youtube as well. There is a lot of talent there.

@ RationalBabu, "...(Atif Aslam) he is a good singer but most of his success in Bollywood has been been due to the supremely talented music directors and composers for his songs!" Yes, but the voice is his. It is a two way street. The Indian music directors and composers can not make you and me sing like Atif, no matter how supremely talented they are.
