Deepika, Priyanka and Kangana make a stylish splash at Cannes
Bollywood celebs have been a part of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival for as long as we can remember.
Back in the day, it would be mostly Aishwarya Rai Bachchan doing the representing but as more stars have stepped over into Hollywood and Bollywood has become even more of a giant, the list of glamazons attending has increased.
Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have become part of the revered affair for years now, Kangana Ranaut attended her first last year and even Priyanka Chopra has made her debut this week!
While we're still waiting on some appearances (where you at, Sonam?), Deepika, Priyanka and Kangana have served up a couple of looks already and we just had to talk about it. Here's what each of them has worn so far:
Deepika Padukone
We always say Deepika plays it safe on international red carpets. Well, her first look at Cannes definitely brought some drama.
She showed up wearing a high impact full-sleeved cream Peter Dundas gown with a plunging neckline, larger than life black bow and an even bigger train. While she always looks stunning, we just wish she'd stop wearing these giant bows. Let's spice things up a little!
We guess we can give her props for her exaggerated makeup. She rocked an upside down cat eye and a high, high ponytail. The blingy hoops work but she doesn't really need the stacks on stacks of bangles.
For Day 2, she kept it casual but also very on trend. We all know neon's hot right now:
So are stripes and pantsuits. And dainty jewellery like those earrings! This #OutfitOfTheDay that includes those orange stilettos for a little pop might just be our favourite look yet, which is kind of sad if you think about it:
We were also fans of this flirty, breezy outfit by Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini. Perfectly paired with delicate jewellery, a braided belt and retro sunnies:
Priyanka Chopra
For her first ever Cannes, we were expecting PC to pull out all the stops, especially after that extra Met Gala look and we guess we were a little underwhelmed. The diva wore a slinky and shimmery Roberto Cavalli dress with a thigh high slit and statement silver earrings. She completed the look with loose curls and graphic eyeliner.
She also wore this all white ensemble inspired by Princess Diana:
We liked this look more because at least it was a little edgier compared to the first. We like it when Chopra-Jonas keeps it fierce. And don't even get us started on that glow! Highlighter so bright, even she had to put on shades.
Kangana Ranaut
You gotta give it to Kangana: there's never a dull moment when she's around. She wore a really funky golden fusion sari from the quirky Falguni and Shane Peacock studio. She paired it with violet gloves, a very interesting addition and an embellished peplum belt.
She went from sophisticated chic to sassy for the night in this Nedret Taciroglu power suit with a corset underneath. She kept her hair wet and slicked back and topped off the number with a smoky eye:
