The upcoming web series, Baadshah Begum now has a director!

Chalay Thay Saath's Umer Adil has been roped in to direct the series written by Saji Gul and so far, starring Faysal Qureshi, Iman Ali, Mohsin Abbas Haider, Gohar Rasheed and Imran Ashraf to name a few.

Talking to Images, Adil shared, "The story is intense, unusual and rooted in culture. Saji Gul being the master that he is has developed the characters with a lot of attention to detail. The script is also dramatic, has interesting highs and lows and has a uniqueness in its flow. The casting is in process and the names associated with it so far are very skilled and renowned actors. It seems to me that it will be a dynamic combination of talent all around."

"I’m actually really looking forward to working with a producer who truly feels for the art and is interested in content as well. We only have a handful of such indie producers and I hope that once we get into it as a team, we’ll create some magic," he added.

Baadshah Begum is about sibling rivalry – and power struggles within a family and community. The plot revolves around themes of inheritance, family politics, gender inequality and male dominance. Qureshi's character will be playing the arch villain in the Rafay Rashidi production.

The series will tentatively come out some time after October but no release date has been revealed yet.
