Humayun Saeed speaks out in support of the LSAs amidst nomination controversy

LSAs came under fire when seven nominees withdrew to protest nomination of an artist accused of sexual harassment.

Humayun Saeed is the latest actor to have spoken up about the Lux Style Award nomination controversy.

The award show came under fire when several nominees withdrew their names in protest of the nomination of an artist accused of sexual harassment.

The Punjab Nahi Jaungi star took to Instagram to give his two cents on the matter:

In his statement, he said, "The Lux Style Awards have been recognising a diverse range of artists for nearly two decades. Any dispute regarding nominations shouldn’t take away from the fact that it’s the country’s only platform to have managed to acknowledge so many incredibly talented Pakistanis for such a long time thereby making it imperative that it continues to do so in the future as well."

A total of seven nominees have pulled out from the LSA race this year; the nominees who have requested to be removed include model Eman Suleman, clothing brand Generation, makeup artist Saima Bargfrede, singer Meesha Shafi, folk rock band The Sketches, makeup artist Fatima Nasir and model Rubbab Ali.

Disappointed at people's negative reaction. LSA should stay independent of court cases. Instead of following the court, people are following only social media and taking sides.

@Abdullah just accept each individuals choice, knowing the many supporters are beneficiaries, and /or may have contracts with Lux.

The artists who are boycotting LSA are showing how out of touch they are,look around Pakistan ,LHC decisions , the sindh gov!t ,the people of Pakistan have no safe water or food,this is what these artists protesting ! LOL

@Abdullah disagree! Sexual harassment hits too close to personal being. In such places much like other platforms, the institution has to take often unpopular but necessary steps. Conventional thinking would be to ‘let’s be neutral.’ The real change makers, the one who genuinely care to improve this industry and make it friendly and cleaner for personal wellbeing have to take a side on this! If Lsa and these fellow actors think that the audience is dumb believe me they are wrong . We see where you all stand. The silence and the skews.

It appears Dawn had slightly overacted in its efforts to garner support for the victim of sexual harassment and trying to demonize the harasser... i won't be surprised if Ali turns out to be guilty eventually but till then let's show sympathy for Meesha without passing judgement on Ali...

We hear or read news and we form an opinion and yes, sometimes we even judge. That's human nature. It takes gray courage for Pakistani women to publicly accuse somebody due to social stigma. I don't believe him. Nope.
