Thursday evening the PM's Office announced a major reshuffle of the federal cabinet with key portfolios of the finance, interior and information ministries seeing new faces.
This came hours after Asad Umar stepped down from the position of finance minister.
The irony of the stepping down of someone who is widely perceived as PTI's most loyal member only eight months into the party coming to power wasn't lost on Pakistanis, who took to Twitter to crack a joke (or twenty) at the news.
