Alia Bhatt responds to Kangana Ranaut telling her to "grow a spine"

Alia Bhatt responds to Kangana Ranaut telling her to "grow a spine"

"I didn't do anything to get a reaction like this," said the Highway star

Looks like Ali Bhatt has gotten on Kangana Ranaut's bad side, because the latter feels Alia didn't support her during the release of Manikarnika.

Kangana recently called Alia 'Karan Johar's puppet', which Alia feels is uncalled for. In an interview with DNA India, the young star said:

"I would like to react to her (Kangana) personally if she has any complaints. I don’t want to talk about it in the media. As I have said before, I really admire her as an actor and the choices that she makes. She’s a very outspoken person and I admire her for that as well. If I have upset her unintentionally, then I don’t know. Basically, it wasn’t my intention. I didn’t do anything to get a reaction like this."

Earlier this week, Kangana had pointed fingers at Aamir Khan and Alia Bhatt for not supporting her film, whereas she says she was always there to support their projects. "When Aamir called me for Dangal, Secret Superstar, I went all the way to Ambani's house. Dangal, for me, was a film about women empowerment. But they don't have time for any of my trails."

She added, "Alia (Bhatt) sent me the trailer of Raazi and said, 'Please watch it'. For me, it was not a Karan Johar film or an Alia film, for me, it was a film on Sehmat Khan, the girl who has given her everything to the country. How do these people become so petty? This is a very strange sort of a racket. I don't know what they are threatened by."

Alia had responded to these statements by saying that she will personally apologise to her. "I hope she doesn't dislike me and I don't think she dislikes me. I don't think I have done anything intentionally to upset her. If I have, I will apologise to her on a personal level."

However, this did not go down well with the Queen star, who reportedly told the budding actor to "grow a spine".

“I suggested that she grows some spine and supports an important film about woman empowerment and nationalism... if she doesn’t have a voice of her own and her existence is all about being KJo’s (Karan Johar) puppet then I don’t consider her successful... I told her if she is only focusing on earning bucks and not raise a voice, then her success has no value."

"Hope she understands the true meaning of success and her responsibilities. Nepotism gang life is simply restricted to give and take favours. Hope she rises above that," said Kangana.

Though I really like Kangna for her outspokenness but Alia has quite out-graced her this time. Whether Alia is a puppet or not she is full of grace in her expression which is something Kangna should learn to use more frequently.

Generational celebrity system is rock solid in India. New actors who don't have a backup are last in the line.

Kangana, you might have misunderstood Alia. She appears to like you and feels sorry if unintentionally hurt you. Please meet her halfway, go for a nice meal with her and show women power only where it's needed. Life is too short.

Kangana has made a dull and boring film. However she expects the industry to "support" her by endorsing the film so that the public is fooled into going to watch it. After her acidic comments about the industry, how can she expect any cooperation from the industry?

Alia is not an actress , she is in the films because of her dad. On the other hand Kangana is an actress.
