Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman Khan are quite tight-lipped about their upcoming release Heer Maan Ja.

Remember the poster that hinted at the idea of a runaway bride? Well, Ali Rehman refused to confirm that... but Images managed to get a few details about the hush-hush project from the actors.

Speaking to Images the two co-stars revealed how the storyline is different from their previous venture, Parchi, what characters they will be playing and what made them sign the film.

"The audience will get to see romance, comedy, happiness, all in one film this time because it's a new story and new characters' whose paths crossover, that's how it all begins. On the other hand, Parchi was a rugged action comedy film," said Hareem.

Ali added, "This film is a romantic comedy and for the first time I am playing a romantic lead. The dynamics work differently because the story is different and so are the characters. It's too early to talk about the characters and storyline but I can say this, both characters are extremely fun and complicated. each dealing with their own complexity. It's a fun-paced rom-com for everyone."

We ask about their roles in the film and here's what they had to say:

"In Heer Maan Ja I will be seen portraying the role of Heer who is a textile designer with a sweet soul. For an actor to be playing two diversified characters in a very short time span is an exhilarating experience and I got that with Eman in Parchi and now Heer in our latest film. I couldn't have asked for a better role," Hareem said.

While Ali's character is slightly different. "I play a guy named Kabir who is super confident and a go-getter. He does what he feels is right and gets what he wants. The only thing is that he constantly runs into bad luck which adds to a continuous struggle to balance a perfect life - that's what made this character really enjoyable to play."

Ali was onboard when he read the script, he "really liked the idea and the concept of the movie. I haven't done a rom-com before so ti was a different experience for me." For Hareem it was all experimental, "Every actor wants to experiment with his roles. For most actors it's not about the bigger screen time but the chance to play a certain character that may not be mainstream for the audience but is what the artist craves to perform.

She did let us in on one surprise: there will be cameos by renowned actors who will be playing unique roles in the film.

Though we don't know who all have been brought onboard for he cameos, we know that they'll keep audiences hooked.

Heer Maan Ja is set for an Eid-ul-Azha release.
