Aamir Khan is now making films for TV
Aamir Khan just announced his next film and it's not the kind of project you expect.
Releasing on January 26, 2019, the film titled Robahu Roshni will be screened on TV instead of the cinemas. In a video on Twitter, he clarifies that this film is not another episode of his social issue reality show Satyameva Jayate but a surprise project for his fans.
The film will air on Star Plus and we're wondering whether the growing significance of streaming platforms like Netflix and Amazon is behind Aamir's decision to distribute this film differently.
Judging by its title, the film may have a connection with his earlier hit Rang De Basanti, which had a song titled 'Roobaroo'. Reports say that's where the film takes its name from.
At this point, it's not clear whether Aamir will star in this film, but it's been produced by him and wife Kiran Rao and directed by Svati Chakravarty.
