Suniel Shetty is not happy about the way people have been criticising Thugs of Hindostan.

At a recent media interaction the actor shared that everyone has become a self-proclaimed film critic.

“I feel it’s really unfortunate that the film is receiving criticism because I have a lot of friends who have gone and seen Thugs of Hindostan and they loved the film. It’s a paisa vasool (value for money) film because of its scale and canvas.”

The Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan starrer has received terrible reviews since its opening day, so much so that within the first few days the box office numbers fell drastically.

The 57-year-old added, “We sometimes expect a lot from a film and nowadays, everyone out there consider themselves as film critics and they think they know all about entertainment but I think we should give an opportunity to every film to get a smooth release and then audience should give their opinion. We shouldn’t criticise it so much that it gets pulled out from theaters.”

Thugs of Hindostan had high expectations to meet from audiences but fell flat.

Audience has all the right to be critic since they are the one who is going to spend money and time.

If if was other actors movie, people would have said average movie and moved on. But this was Aamir khans movie, one who has given movies like Sarfarosh, Lagaan, 3 idiots, Taare zameem pe, Ghajini, PK, Secret superstar, Dangal etc. This movie was blot on that pure perfection gold record. If movies one fourth the budget - like Badhai Ho, Pihu, Tumbbad, Andadhun released this week can give excellent content + great critical acclaim, then TOH should have delivered the same, specially since their budget was 200 crore. But it failed. The director Krishna Acharya is solely responsible as he is the script writer and dialog writer apart from being director.

Nothing wrong in demanding quality as a customer/movie ticket buyer. Thugs receiving it's fair share cause of it being a mediocre product.

If you make a good movie, people will praise it. Do you reject all the praises that time? Then why complain now after you produce a bad movie?

I have not seen even a single good movie failing at the BO just because the critics review were bad. In the current world of Social Media, people do rely on trusted peer reviews. TOH was indeed an average movie not the one of Amir Khan's types. btw, watch KGF Trailer, it is awesome and looks very promising.

Watch the trailer. It will make you not want to watch the film. Looks like a low budget ‘pirates of the Caribbean’ knock-off.

these types of epic adventures movies are not Bollywood cup of tea.People will prefer Hollywood for these types of movies.Bollywood actors are also not good at these types of new experimental acting.Even southern Indian epic films are better .

Mr.Suniel should understand the Audience has a right to watch and like or dislike films. This film treats audiences as idiots who would watch stars grappling with poor storyline and direction and still go out and praise the film. They managed to collect 50 cr on first day by pricing the tickets very high and releasing it across 5000 screens. They thought the hype would push this substandard film to 1000 cr. Fortunately the audience still rules.
