Upcoming film 'Pinky Memsaab' will take you on a journey of self discovery
An indie Pakistani film is set to hit theatres soon and it boasts an international cast.
Actor Hajra Yamin shared the poster for film Pinky Memsaab, which has been directed by Shazia Ali Khan.
Said the Maan Jao Naa actor in her poster reveal, "Super excited to announce the reveal of my second movie Pinky Memsaab, an international production shot in Dubai with actors from India, Pakistan and UAE. Releasing soon worldwide! I had the privilege to work with some amazing actors."
Pinky Memsaab's story has been described by producers thus: "The lives of a gullible maid; a beautiful socialite; an ambitious investment banker and a happy-go-lucky chauffeur are entwined together in Dubai, in this bitter-sweet tale of self-discovery."
Speaking to Images, Hajra who plays the titular character Pinky said, "My character is a young woman from a small village in Punjab who travels to Dubai to work as a maid. The movie is about her journey, the type of people that she meets over there. It will show a contrast between her life in the village and her life in a big city."
"The writer and director is Shazia Ali Khan, who is based in Dubai. This will be her debut feature film. 80% of the film has been shot in Dubai," she added.
Pinky Memsaab's cast also includes Kiran Malik, Adnan Jafar, Khalid Ahmed, Hajra Khan and Shameem Hilaly.
"There are also actors from India and Dubai who are playing some roles in the film, so it's a very diverse cast.
Hajra revealed, "One such actor is Sunny Hinduja [who's acted in Indian indie flicks like Ballad of Rustom] who flew from India for a character. It was wonderful meeting him and working with him."
"I worked with many senior actors in the film and had something to learn from each and every one of them."
According to Hajra, "My experience with Pinky Memsaab was very good. I was taking part in something that was on a much larger platform than anything I've done before. Since it was an international platform, there were different people from different places working on the project and they were all very professional and [knowledgeable about] their work. They knew their craft well and all I had to do was focus on my acting."
Pinky Memsaab's official release date is yet to be released but Hajra says that it will hit theatres by the year end.
