Haniya Aslam makes Coke Studio comeback with feminist anthem 'Main Irada'

Haniya Aslam has been on a long hiatus from the Pakistani music scene but that changes with Coke Studio track 'Main Irada'.

Together with Rachel Viccaji, she calls for women to embrace their strength and work together to achieve their dreams. Listen to the song here:

The song also features Shamu Bai and 'Pareek' duo Ariana and Amrina of Explorer fame who bring a traditional folksy twist in its bridge. The diversity of the vocals makes this a feminist anthem that tries to speak to women across Pakistan.

Props to Rufus Shahzad's very pleasing harmonium-infused intro and chorus for making 'Main Irada' a repeat listen.
