Mankind’s favourite angel Taher Shah is preaching peace amid the Israel‑Iran ceasefire confusion

As the US president fumbles on his promises of calm in the Middle East, Pakistan’s pop-philosopher is floating in with a cosmic call for peace.

Cue the violins, unroll the purple carpets, and prepare your soul for a transcendental experience from the ‘Eye-to-Eye’ oracle himself. Taher Shah is back, and this time, he’s not chasing love or celestial beings — he’s chasing peace.

Yes, you read that right. At a time when the Middle East teeters on the edge of catastrophe, with the Iran-Israel tensions flaring and headlines reading more like history books being written in real time, Pakistan’s most enigmatic pop philosopher has emerged with a message. A doctrine, actually.

Announced via an Instagram post, Shah unveiled his latest venture: ‘PEACE (Humans Can Create a World of Peace)’. The title alone deserves an award for ‘Best Use of Parentheses in a Global Crisis’.

The project, complete with a deeply cosmic visual experience, is a swirling, animated odyssey that looks like it was storyboarded by Midjourney. With a lone astronaut drifting across kaleidoscopic galaxies, seemingly in search of life elsewhere, viewers are taken on a voyage through space while Shah delivers a grave, voiceover sermon. “Strangely, humans are intent on destroying the only planet known to harbour life while they search for life on a planet devoid of it…”

His narration floats above a background score that sounds straight out of a meditative YouTube playlist. It’s the kind of music you’d expect to hear under a Dalai Lama podcast, not a geopolitical peace PSA. There are no theatrical costume changes, just panning through cosmic backdrops and Shah’s signature sincerity anchoring the whole thing. It’s part sci-fi story, part interstellar, part peace pitch.

Dropped ahead of the ceasefire announcement by US President Donald Trump, Shah’s project positions itself as an anti-war balm.

According to his poetic press release, it aims to support the “neighbouring Islamic Republic of Iran in its pursuit of peace,” while reminding humanity that “life could continue to flourish indefinitely” if we simply stopped bombing each other. No lie there.

The project is, in true Shah fashion, an entirely solo production: “Concept, written, voiced, produced, edited and created by Taher Shah.”

His sprawling Doctrine of Peace reads like something between a UN white paper and an intergalactic bedtime story. It covers everything from justice and reconciliation to “the quiet strength” of inner harmony. He urges humanity to shift from “dominance” to “understanding,” from war to gentle dialogue.

The language may be lofty, but the sentiment is sincere, and in a world this chaotic, a little sincere loftiness might not hurt. Will it change the geopolitical quagmire the world finds itself in? Probably not. Will it make you pause (for whatever reason) and restore your faith in angels in the garb of humans? Honestly, yes.
