Kangana Ranaut is playing a kabaddi player in her next film
Kangana Ranaut's next role is fit for her fighting spirit — she's going from queen to kabbadi champ in an upcoming project, according to latest reports.
After wrapping up her current project Mental Hai Kya with Rajkummar Rao next month, Kangana is said to be starting work on a sports drama directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, for which she will undergo extensive training to get familiar with the kabaddi game. Director Tiwari is known for films like Bareilly Ki Barfi.
A source told Filmfare, “Ashwiny is screening national level kabaddi champions profiled to find the one who can handhold Kangana through the sport. While Kangana has already started practicing yoga to be able to master holding breath, a pre-requisite of the game, the prep will see her learning different kinds of holds and kicks. Learning the crocodile hold and wrist catch will be crucial.
"She will also need to undergo a change in terms of her physique. She will learn about the various lives of kabaddi players and their challenges."
The source added that Kangana’s preps for the kabaddi film will start in August.
