Kareena is sticking to her 'not a feminist' statement

Actually, she thinks she's "a bit of a feminist" but "in the right way"

We've heard sooo many celebrities shy away from feminism that it didn't shock us to hear Kareena say that although she believes in gender equality she doesn't identify as feminist.

Predictably, Kareena got trolled for the self-contradictory statement, but she's still sticking to it!

According to Filmfare, Kareena insists she didn't say anything wrong.

She said, “What was wrong in the feminism statement? I’d still say that I believe in equality and there’s nothing wrong in it. Most people think that feminism means male bashing and it makes women superior. That’s what they’ve always meant, otherwise why would they be fighting on Twitter every time."

But she's tweaked her statement from last time a bit:

"However, I would also like to add, that in a way, I am a bit of a feminist but I am a feminist in the right way. I’m not trying to say that men are lesser, because they are not. I believe it takes two to tango in any kind of a relationship. But then, main kuch bhi statement bolun, trolls toh shuru ho jate hain (whatever I say, trolling will start), especially when it comes to feminism.”

Are we any clearer on Kareena's views on feminism? Nope, still confused.

Well. I think I just feel sorry for her.

KK is pretty spot on there about the changing nature of feminism. The idea started as emancipation of women and providing equal opportunities, but has morphed into male bashing and preferential treatment of women. Good that KK is standing by her beliefs rather than following PC culture.
