Aamir Khan's Secret Superstar is the top earning film in China right now

Superstar overtook Maze Runner this weekend

We asked not too long ago, "Will Aamir Khan's Secret Superstar top China's box office?".

We have our answer now: the film is having a strong run in the Chinese box office, having earned $10.5 million between last Friday and Sunday, reports Variety. The film even overtook Maze Runner: The Death Cure as the top earning film this weekend

Secret Superstar is the story of a teenage girl who dreams of becoming a singer and fulfils her dreams without the knowledge of her disapproving father.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film is close to the $100 million mark in China and is likely to cross it in this week.

Having made $6.4 million on its very first day, Secret Superstar broke Dangal's first-day record in China's box office. In contrast, Dangal, which became a sensation in China and raked in nearly $200 million, earned $2.18 million on its opening day last year.

Pakistan should also release PNG and Namaloom Afrad in China. They are much better movies then Secret superstar.

Good to see Bollywood entering in China with success. This will bring some Chinese stars to bollywood too like in tubelight. Bollywood has actors now from various countries.
