Sajid Hasan shares horrifying hair transplant ordeal

The veteran actor posted a video on social media detailing his experience
Updated 04 Feb, 2018

Veteran actor Sajid Hasan has come forward on social media with his harrowing experience of a hair transplant gone wrong.

In a video on Facebook, he shared that a doctor acquaintance of his was chasing him for nine years to perform a hair transplant procedure on him. Two months ago, Hasan said he finally consented.

Little did he know that his hair transplant would go very wrong.

Hasan said that he underwent the procedure without any tests, though he knows now that that isn't standard procedure. He said that the doctor, whom he left unnamed, just laid him down and attempted the hair transplant on him.

"I fell ill the next day," shares Hasan. "For 10-15 days, I was in bed with a fever and infection and the doctor just kept assuring me that I'll get better." Hasan revealed that the doctor would only cleanse his scalp with saline water when we would go in for check-ups.

"It's been one month of a lot of suffering for me and family. I've lost out on some work. Through this video, I want to raise awareness about the importance of research. Everyone should check 10 times before undergoing a procedure and opt for the right surgeon."

The video went viral on social media and people have since been tweeting about it.

If you go to turkey, they are doing professionally in just US$ 2,000, it includes pick & drop from airport and from hotel as well as 3 days stay in hotel. And they do the procedure in which your own hair is used, so there is no chance of infection.

This hair tranplant scam has ruined so many. It began in USA in 1975. My Romanian friend in New Jersey was the first of the victims. Ended up paying $ 100 per hair After 10 hair and $1000 he gave up. Wearing a sport cap for 6 months to the bruises on scalp. What is wrong with being bald for a man? Nawaz has not succeeeded in 15 years and pack of money every year for after care. Duke of Edimburgh Prince Charles, Prince Andrew, Eisonhover all rich and powerful kept away from the gimmick and grew gracefully older. Personalities of man and woman change with age...and there is nothing wrong with aging process. Baldness is not a desease. Most of the cases are genetic inheritance.

The government should assign an agency to monitor the performance and educational qualifications of cosmetic surgeons and cosmetic dermatologist in Pakistan like it’s happening in west for quality assurance and curb malpractice.

In Pakistan, if yesterday's flunkies, semi-literate and dubious characters can get elelcted to Senate or beome Federal Ministers (even PM), than you can expect butchers, vagrants and failed drop outs to get fake degrees and suddenly open shop and call themsleves, 'Plastic or Cosmetic or Hair Transplant Surgeoan'. Lack of regulations, corruption and poor licensing methods to verify credential is the direct result of this debacle.

Very disturbing and disappointing. It is possible to regrow lost hair through more easier means. There are herbs which can help regrow your hair. Good that Mr. Sajid decided to make his botched surgery public to spread awareness about hair transplant. The fact is even if some hair are transplanted these would never connect with the skin tissue in a natural way. I have discovered useful herbs in this regard and made an oil from the same. Growth is seen in ten days time. Least expensive with no pain involved.

He should sue the doctor for negligence and seek compensation irrespective if the doctor was his friend or not. This a matter of life and death and he should take it seriously. I am sure he doesn’t want this doctor to carry on the same procedure on others. Attorney general’s office should take notice and should seek Mr Sajid’s assistance to find the doctor and file suit.

@S K Roy Pakistani surgeons are well trained. Complications happen every where. if this doc was mr sajid's friend he must be aware of his expertise before going thru it. there are so many examples of failed plastic surgeries in the world just Google it. A lot many people have had hair transplant done here in pak and they are quiet successful.

I really feel sorry for Mr Sajid Hasan and hope that inshaAllah he will recover soon. The minimum he can do is to name the doctor, send a complaint to PMDC. The thing that surprises me the most is the fact that in Pakistan, medical malpractices are at its peak, not only in private setups but in government setups too, but no one bothers to look into these. Rather matters are hushed up by making committees and dubious enquiries, clearing accused of charges. Believe you me, if proper enquiries are done 80% of medical practitioners will lose their licences.

Everyone has access to free information specially on youtube. One should research before taking life changing decision.

For those in show business, like politics, looks do matter. That way Imran Khan is better off than his best friend Mr. Nawaz Shariff. and brother Shahbaz, who both have had hair transplants. But if you are not in the show business, no need to artificially alter your looks. He is not the first person, and certainly will not be the last person to have been traumatized by his doctor. Probably every doctor in the world makes very serious mistakes.
