Karni Sena realises that Padmaavat isn't so bad after all

A few Karni Sena members watched the film and concluded that every Rajput will feel proud after watching the film

Looks like someone finally got the memo.

The Shri Rajput Karni Sena announced yesterday that it is withdrawing its protest against the screening of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat. Why, you wonder?

Karni Sena has realised that the film doesn't denigrate but glorifies the Rajput clan.

One of Karni Sena's leaders revealed that some of their organisation's members watched the film in Mumbai on the orders of their president and found that Padmaavat glorifies the bravery and sacrifices of Rajputs. They concluded that every Rajput will feel a sense of pride after watching the film.

The members further reported that the film doesn't feature any objectionable scenes between Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh) and Queen Padmini (Deepika Padukone) that could offend Rajputs.

This begs the question: why were they protesting against a film they had so little knowledge about?

On the bright side, Karni Sena has decided not only to take back the protest but also facilitate its release in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat as well as across all cinema houses in India. Is this enough recompense for all the havoc they wreaked?

After killing and hanging someone on fort! Damaging so many property. Holding everyone on ransom! Most BJP ruled state caving in to pressure to stop screwing? Now after loss of election in Rajasthan and West bangal change was anyway needed! What a glorification of Rajput clan!

After everything that has happened, how are "they" going to justify their acts of public nuisance, destruction, threats and to top it all pelting stones at a school bus full of children?

There were indeed objectionable scenes/song which have no doubt been 'fixed' only after these protests. So yes, the protest by Karni Sena has had its ramifications.

If Padmavati is a metaphor, then maybe only those who understand metaphors need to watch or comment? Literalists need to stay away and wait for a better educated day. BTW, usuallyl history is flawed in the telling of it.
