Aishwarya Rai will pay tribute to Lata Mangeshkar in 'Fanney Khan'
Aishwarya Rai's got her hands full with multiple projects but her most interesting one has to be Fanney Khan.
Not only is the film tackling body-shaming, but it's also going to be paying tribute to India's legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.
According to DNA India, a source revealed that Ash "plays a popular singer in the film and a fan of Lata. You can’t escape Lata’s influence if you're playing a singer."
"Apart from a few original tracks, Aishwarya will also recreate a few of Lata's numbers. That isn’t the film's only connection with Lata. Anil Kapoor's daughter, who plays an aspiring singer, is named Lata," the source added.
Aishwarya look from the upcoming film was also leaked earlier.
Fanney Khan is reportedly a remake of 2000's Dutch film Everybody's Famous.
The film is about an aspiring singer, played by Anil Kapoor, his relationship with his daughter and how their lives change when Aishwarya Rai comes into their lives. It will be directed by Atul Manjrekar and also stars Rajkumar Rao.
Fanney Khan is slated for a 13 April 2018 release.
