Aishwarya Rai's definitely diversifying her projects.

According to Mumbai Mirror, the Bollywood actor has shown interest in the remake of classic Raat Aur Din (1967) and may take on the role of the lead, Varuna - originally played by Sanjay Dutt's mother Nargis Dutt.

"The film is ready to go on floors and is expected to be shot in Europe mid-next year. Aishwarya has also shown interest in the Raat Aur Din adaptation, details of which are expected to be finalised soon," a source close to the development told the publication.

If Aishwarya signs the film, she will be seen donning the role of a woman with multiple personality disorder.

The Bollywood actor recently wrapped up her last project, Fanney Khan alongside producer Prernaa Arora. The producer now hopes to cast her again in the remake.

He said, "Working with Aishwarya on Fanney Khan has been a pleasure. Now, there are two more films we are collaborating on with her. Siddharth Anand will be co-producing the film with me, which is an edgy thriller. This film will see Aishwarya in a double role and we will soon finalise the lead man opposite her."

"It will be a homage to Nargisji and is a special project for all of us," Prernaa added. "Aishwarya has already said that she would love to play the main role. I have also discussed the project with Sanjay sir (Dutt), and he has approved of the idea and our choice of Ash to play the role originally essayed by his late actress-mother."

Raat Aur Din is a film about a married woman who suffers from multiple personality disorder. She's is a homemaker during the day, but takes on another identity at night.

I hope she does the role justice as not really a good actor. She is more of a star.

@Mudassar Looks to be lots of plastic surgery. Compared to her natural self some twenty years ago, she is unrecognizable now.
