Sanjay Dutt's biopic release date revealed

Fans have also been going gaga over Manisha Koirala's leaked look from the film
05 Jan, 2018

We finally know when Sanjay Dutt's long-awaited biopic will hit screens.

The release date was announced by director Rajkumar Hirani rather unceremoniously on Twitter: "#DuttBiopic [is] releasing on June 29."

The film was earlier said to be releasing on March 30. Delay aside, it's good to have a confirmed release date for the biopic, now that hype's building up.

Just a day ago, a leaked photo of Manisha Koirala as Sanjay Dutt's late mother Nargis Dutt caused a stir on social media, with most agreeing that she's pulled off the Mother India star's look.

Apart from Manisha, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay, Dia Mirza as Sanjay Dutt’s wife Manyatta, Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Vicky Kaushal. Its official title is yet to be revealed.

Bollywood running out of ideas and subjects. Why make biopics on people who still living and active in their profession? Things might change and their lives might take a completely different turn, and their story might become irrelevant! Let the story conclude before making films about it!

Sunit Dutt, a former member of the parliament, died because of the setback he suffered due to Sanjay Dutt's prolonged tryst with drugs and his involvement in a case related to the infamous serial bomb blasts of Mumbai. He was awarded a jail term as his role had been proved in the court of law. So, what is the point in glorifying such an individual? I don't think we want our kids to follow him at all!

@Mohd. atta Right. Sanjay Dutt had troubles and struggles, though a biopic on him won't automatically make him a role-model. People will take lessons whatever they want to.

@RationalBabu Biopics on living people isn't something that Bollywood has started due to running out of ideas. Such Biopics are made in Hollywood as well e. g. Ali, Wolf of the Wall Street, Catch me if you can etc. etc.

@Mohd. atta nobody glorifying him. The movie is showing the dark side of him and how it affected his life and family. Its made by critically acclaimed director who made 3 idiots, Munna Bhai and PK. It's going to be good movie.

In any other country this guy would have been jailed for life. His only qualification is that he is the son of Sunil and Nargis dutt.
