Last year it was reported that Biwi No 1 would see a remake, now we know who'll be taking the reins of the project.

Indian director David Dhawan and his son Varun Dhawan are reportedly uniting to put together a remake of the 1999 Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor starrer.

According to Mumbai Mirror, the two are coming together for the third time after working on Main Tera Hero and Judwaa 2.

"The discussions are presently at nascent stage. The Dhawans will start work on the film in the coming year," a source close to the production told the publication.

"Biwi No.1 is one of Varun’s favourite films and he is excited to collaborate with his father once again. Shooting dates and casting of the leading ladies will begin once the final script is locked."

The classic also featured Sushmita Sen, Anil Kapoor, Tabu and Saif Ali Khan.
