Has Bollywood run out of film ideas or are filmmakers adamant on ruining the 90s classics?

According to Hindustan Times, films Hero No 1, Biwi No 1 and Coolie No 1, which star Karisma Kapoor, Salman Khan (Biwi No 1) and Govinda (Hero No 1 and Coolie No 1), will be seeing a remake. Producer of the three popular films Vashu Bhagnani hopes to start with the popular No 1 series, before venturing into remakes of other 90s classics.

Reportedly, the cast is in the process of being finalised and filmmakers are confused between casting Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor for the lead role of Hero No 1.

However, the No 1 series is not the only set to see a remake. Filmfare reported that the Amitabh Bachchan-Govinda starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan will also see a remake.

Although the director is yet to be decided, the producers are leaning towards Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra as the leads. The pair was seen together in action-drama film Brothers (2015).

Whether or not the remakes see the light of day, our only concern is that the filmmakers don't ruin the classics for us.
