Noted guitarist Sajjad Tafu along with his students at Alhamra is working on an album for special children.

The audio album, videos for which would be recorded later, is an effort to pay tribute to children with special needs.

“Much is being done in music, but very little for children. I am trying to come up with an album for them, titled ‘Special Album for Special Children’.”

Mr Tafu said that through this album he aimed to raise funds for the children and help institutions working for their betterment.

“We shall also hold live concerts in major cities of Pakistan promoting the album and collecting funds for needy and special children,” he added.

He said the students of Alhamra guitar glass were part of this noble cause with him and would play the instrument as well as sing on the album.

Asif Ali Badal is writing the songs that are being composed by Tafu. Funds for the album would be generated through multinationals and affluent people. He said students were currently rehearsing for the songs.

He said he wanted to follow in the footsteps of some great local and international musicians who had contributed a lot to society.

To a question, Tafu said the guitar class at Alhamra had the most number of students. Some of them had become so good at the instrument that they even performed at various music functions. He said the album would likely be released by the end of December.
