In the new T-10 format, matches will extend over just 10 overs and be played between six teams made up of some of the finest cricketers we know, like our very own Afridi, Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara, India's Virender Sehwag, Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan and England's Eoin Morgan.

The league's got a lot of star power going for it with Bollywood celebs Sohail Khan partly owning the Maratha Arabians with Kriti Sanon and Sara Loren as celeb ambassadors.

Talking about the new league, Kriti Sanon said, "I'm really excited about the T-10 series. It's going to be much more entertaining — exciting, short, fast and it's going to keep everyone on the edge of their seats. I can't wait to see how it all turns out."

The first tournament kicks off on December 21 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium with its finale scheduled for December 24.

The league will be run by President Salman Iqbal (who also is CEO of ARY Digital Network) and Chairman Shaji Ul Mulk.

The way this great game is transforming into. It looks as if it is slipping out of the real cricketer's hands into novice celebrities who will make it even short and decide the matches on T-tosses on the flip of the coins.
