Bollywood congratulates Pakistan on historic cricket win

Farhan Akhtar, Sushmita Sen and others say the boys played well!
Updated 19 Jun, 2017

And we did it!

The Pakistani cricket team trounced their Indian opponents on the field today, bagging the coveted Champions Trophy.

The victory is extra-sweet because it was Pakistan's first final in this championship and they were widely considered the tournament's underdogs

Naturally, fans have gone ballistic on Twitter:

But what surprised us what was the outpouring of good wishes from across the border. Bollywood extended its heartiest congratulations to the Pakistan cricket team.

Good to see Bolly stars set an example for sportsmanship!

I must say to the Indian fans out there that they must learn today pride hath a fall. They were being too proud, forgetting that its cricket and cricket is by chance. 3 GOOD deliveries from Amir, and the entire Indian pride was done and dusted. Sometimes such lessons become too critical for people who forget the realities of the Game. ICC was the only area left in which Pak had to teach a lesson to the Indians, which they also did. Now its Pak which has won 73 ODIs and India 52 out total 129. So this win answer to those Indians who have been relying too much on the stats. Congrats Pakistan. Pakistan Zindabad.

@Shahid well; loosing to a well played team is respect and also a win. loss in fight is fair;but, this is not called loosing; some thing else;Indian team, ex players, coaches, selectors and managment should sit together must sit together and honestly introspect and brain storm each and every thing

Bollywood has to be the real ambassadors of friendship. They are loved in Pakistan. I wish our boys could play in IPL as well. Where will you find a bowler like Amir Khan and Hassan Ali in India? What about Fakhr i Alam and our leader par excellence Sarfataz Ahmed? Lets keep politics separate from arts and sports. Hum ne tumko daikha, tum ne humko daikha aisay....

This is indeed grtness shown by these actors. One must ponder why win means humiliation to the losers. Win must mean jubiliation for the winners and consolation to losers and nothing else. Why the jubiliation of one side shud inflict pain to the others. Any ways congratz to pak nation and betterluck to indian team next time.

True, But why can't the same gesture be shown by Pakistani's when the need arises. Why can't we rise above politics and cross boundary hate and set an example for the world how good two neighbors can be. Hope, our generation can witness this in our life only. May God bring peace and harmony.
