Baaghi's trailer shows Qandeel's journey from a small-town girl to a social media celeb

The two-minute trailer also highlights the struggles she faces along the way
Updated 19 Jul, 2017

After the teasers presented snippets of Qandeel Baloch's life, Baaghi's trailer comes full circle and paints a complete picture.

The 2-minute trailer shows Qandeel's progression (and struggles) from a village girl with high ambitions to a city girl becoming a social media sensation.

It starts with Qandeel's life in the village; how she is treated by her family, especially her older brother, and her abusive marriage and progresses to her life in the city, where she changes her name from Fauzia to Qandeel Baloch to become a star.

The video shows her turning towards social media for stardom, participating in reality singing competition Pakistan Idol and breaking down during the course of the show.

The cast includes Saba Qamar, Ali Kazmi, Osman Khalid Butt, Sarmad Khoosat, and Nimra Khan among others.

Baaghi will air July 27th.

Qandeel Baloch comes from a Seraiki speaking family... however the accent used in the drama is Punjabi... which is culturally incorrect portrayal of a true story... it would have added to the accuracy and success of the show...

Dear Pakistani Awam, Can anyone please explain the great work done by her which force our media to make her Biopic? Do you remember any biopic for the great ladies of Pakistan like Fatima Jinah, Banu Qudsia, Arfa Karim...a long list....

Should have come up with original title instead of a copy. This title movie already exists with the enemy. The movie too gives Vidya Balan's dirty picture vibes. Disappointed.

I am afraid that such biopics and dramas on real life of such personalities would lead the younger generation towards wrong path.

Salon hairstyle for girl in village setting, looks out of place and made up. To show poor man's struggles one should de glam, wear worn out soiled cloths to imply the struggle one goes through so that the audience can relate to it. It's missing here with bridal costume, salon hair and make up.

@Haider khan "No sane person will appreciate what she did" Speak for yourself. She was role model for us against patriachal mindset that shames and judges independent thinking Pakistani woman based on their cloths and men we speak to in this country. Everyone should have freedom of choice. Tired of controlling, moral policing when same rules/name calling doesn't apply to casanova, skin showing men in the media.

Looks superficial with over acting. Aamina Sheikh would have done justice to the role with her understated class performance.

@Haider khan I think that the issues are deeper...as to why she got to where she was...our hypocrisy in the society.. double standards...use and abuse when it suits us.. I am not condoning what she did but it does make one think of the situation holistically..plus we should not judge others as we don't know how we would've done in the same situation... Think!

@gORSI " Is Qandeel that much worthy to make drama adaptation on her?" Its a story about honour killing. An important subject. Casts light on forced girl marraiges, abuse / abandonment they face, single life struggles post divorse, job struggles, limelight, public humiliation for having individualistic choices and then meet her end by honour killing by her own family. It's a thought provoking journey of a struggling woman.

This is going to be the biggest hit drama in Pakistan history. Pakistani love these kind of sensationalism from within and from India and even world.

@Ali "I am so afraid such biopics will lead young generation towards wrong path" If a 2 hour drama movie can influence grown up youth to wrong path, then he's "too weak" to survive in this world. Better such species perish if anything and everything can influence them so easily, that they erase their previous life lessons taught by school and family. Idiotic to blame movies, if our own conscience weak. Also Internet is filled with trash to currupt minds, movies not required.

@mariam I suppose, she lived a life less normal than most women in Pakistan, and film makers are looking for someone with a interesting life...and death, to make a story on. The worthy women that you are talking about may not have a interesting life story for film
