We knew Fawad Khan is adored across the border but who knew Ranbir Kapoor was so smitten with the Humsafar leading man?

Talking to news agency PTI, Kapoor who worked with Fawad in Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil said it was "unfortunate" that the 35-year-old actor had to "bear the brunt" of the current political climate between India and Pakistan.

The Barfi actor added: "He's someone who I admire and I also connected to him as a friend. I would love to do a film with him where we can share screen space for a longer time."

Fawad Khan made his Bollywood debut in 2014 with Khoobsurat alongside Sonam Kapoor. However, tensions between the two countries spiked when 17 soldiers were killed in a Uri terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir last year. Several outfits sought a ban on Pakistani actors from working in Bollywood films then. Due to the increasing outrage, a group of theatre-owners had refused to screen Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Ranbir's father, Rishi Kapoor, co-starred with Fawad Khan in 2016 movie Kapoor And Sons. The 34-year-old actor revealed that his parents Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, are also fans of Fawad Khan.

"I loved his part in Kapoor And Sons. My parents are his fans. My mother is borderline obsessed with Fawad, she has been watching serials like Humsafar."

I echo the views of Ranbir kapoor. I equally admire the maturity with which fawad and other actors of Pakistan handled that situation.

Ranbir kapoor would have been doing everything but acting had it not been for his father to which a question comes to my mind "Is talent determined by hairship?" because opportunity definately does.
