Baaghi teaser 2: Qandeel Baloch is every career-driven Pakistani woman

Saba Qamar projects Qandeel's inner desire to work in the city but things don't go as planned
Updated 04 Jul, 2017

In the lastest Baaghi teaser, Qandeel Baloch expresses her desire to work in the city but is shut down by her husband.

Saba Qamar keeps hitting the nail on the head by channeling Qandeel Baloch's strong, fierce and determined personality and we see that shine through in the latest teaser of the Urdu 1 drama.

The 30-second teaser shows the contrast between Qandeel and her husband's relationship before and after marriage.

Before marriage, her husband promises to fulfill all her desires once they're officially married, including her desire to work in the city. However, once they tie the knot, he refuses to let Qandeel venture out to find work and we see an unfettered Qandeel retaliate in return.

So far we're hooked on the teasers and can't wait for the drama to hit screens!

The original had more passion, personality and looks than the actress. Sad that there was no man to match her energy and generosity.

Can somebody pls explain me how can person who uses exposure of body for cheap fame be equal to the women who use skill and education to earn.....no body is stoping any women from going out and earning but we must not lose our moral values and this applies to men as well........now a days the desi liberals need to stop this mantra that if a woman shows her body she is free!

I truly believe, the way Qandeel Baloch was killed ,was an ugly face of our society. But,the way media is portraying her story is not a right thing,as well. After all, she was not a human rights'activist, philanthropist, artist or someone working for the welfare of the society or the country. Her murderer must be punished, there is no doubt about that, but portraying her as an ideal and icon of freedom for women would be an injustice to thousands of women silently working for the welfare of the society and are never heard of. Qandeel Baloch used dirty ways to ride the ladder of success, and by portraying her as an icon of freedom of speech, our media is encouraging other girls to do the same.

"Qandeel Baloch's strong, fierce and determined personality " A personality that was for sale. She had nothing to sell so society forced her to sell her own dignity. And we are now glorifying self-dehumanization.

Our mentally degenerate society living like animals and not realizing the progress humankind has made, leaves very little hope for things to change for the better. Living in this darkness we were afraid of the small ray of light, Qandeel. Our macho fragile egos could not bear the truth that she was also human. Now we make a movie and may be even some money on it. Its a brave venture considering that the darkness is still suffocating us.
