It's no secret that Patari has been a game-changer for the Pakistani music industry.

The music streaming site is back on our radars with yet another interesting project up their sleeve; Fanoos teams up Zohaib Kazi with the team behind 'The Sibbi Song' and Patari Tabeer to travel across the country to uncover some of its hidden musical gems and greatest legends.

The team plans on taking you on a musical journey, starting from The Bulbulik Music School in the mountains of Gilgit and featuring other big names such as Mai Dhai and Akhtar Channal to name a few. The series will in total highlight six sets of artists.

"The idea grew around Zohaib; when he started working with Coke Studio, we was exposed to a lot of new music that he wasn't familiar with. He wanted to explore that avenue and travel and record these musicians where they feel most comfortable. So it had kind of been in the pipeline for a couple of years and when Zohaib bumped into our CEO, Khalid at Lahooti Melo, they just started talking about this and the idea became something more concrete," shares Patari COO, Ahmer Naqvi.

He adds: "I think Zohaib didn't go into this with any preconceived notions so he kind of let these artists do their own thing. Like the people from the Gilgit music school were used to playing in open spaces and they were singing in a language he didn't even understand but the song that came out of it (the one playing in the preview) was one he felt a connection to, like he said it was exactly what he had been looking for so it was really fortuitous in a way."

Fanoos will be unveiled on 12 May, with two episodes being released before Ramazan and the rest after.
